The church is a Roman Catholic church and was built between 1714 and 1790 by the architect Juan de Aragon. It is located just 35 minutes from Palma in the beautiful village of Polenca.
The parish church was originally founded by the Order of the Temple and therefore the central nave was also built in the Gothic style. The arched vault and the cornice are of baroque origin and give the whole a magical overall picture. The bell tower was raised even further in the early 20th century, further complimenting the beauty.
The interior design of the church is also striking with the paintings and vault painting. There are also two holy water fonts and six side chapels. The stained glass windows were designed by Guillem Reynés, who was a student of the famous Gaudi. GOOD TO KNOW Basically, there are mostly Catholic churches here on the island.
However, if you belong to the Protestant faith, the Protestant parish office also has the right to use the churches on Mallorca as far as possible. So even then you can get married in almost every church on the island.
